I thought I should post that I consumed just 1425 calories today. That is a feat for me considering I have effectively doubled or tripled that number each and every day for the past few weeks at least. I hope to be on the downward trend scale-wise.
Now if I could just find the motivation to hit the gym. Maybe I have to scare myself with the awful truth that I *shudder* will be dating again in two short months. Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I just threw up a little bit. Hey, that might help. Ha.

I did it.
I crossed the threshold of my gym....for the first time in weeks. I completed a 25 minute cardio routine and a complete set of weights. I am pleased with myself, but shocked at how little I could do. One day down, many more to go....

Malia is a Fat Hite
I am the oldest of the Fat Hite children and I am fat. I am not the fattest I have ever been, nor am I the thinnest. I have been yo-yo-ing on the fat Hite scale for a number of years, perhaps all my life. However, I am determined to be less fat. I will be eating fewer calories and gyming twice a day. My goal is to bring my BMI into the healthy range. According to the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute, my healthy weight range is 122-164. Since they record weight in pounds and not kilograms, I'm in trouble. It will be a long row to hoe, but worth it.

A Massive Body Indeed
So they have this way of telling you how fat you are without even seeing you. They give you a score based on height and Hite err-- weight. That score is called a Body Mass Index, or BMI.
A calculator is available here.
My Goal - Bottom end of overweight, 200 pounds...
The BMI is in the heart.
Pounds to lose? about three hundred...

Allie is a Fat Hite
Although I am only a Hite by marriage, I feel like a Hite in weight. Yes I too, am a fat Hite. I do not blame my recent weight gain on the marriage. No no, I had the potential for ...greatness far before my hite-ness. I have always struggled with my weight, and although I tip the scale with greater girth than ever before, I have never been what you would call a bonny wee lass. I am glad to join my new family on their quest to thinness, especially since my husband, that's Karl, has shown an interest in this venture. When our forces combined...ooh, I just had a captain planet flash back... What I mean to say is if we do this together, and post often, we will be able to shed the weight!
Now I don't know if I can follow Besty's revolutionary plan of burning more calories than I consume...that is a lot of calories! I need a life style change! Something permanent...but where to start. Any ideas? One thing that I have heard of is serving your self normal portions, and then only allowing yourself to eat half of what you eat. I heard somewhere that Elizabeth Hurley only eats on children's plates so she can only eat small portions. Yeah, that's where I am gonna start. Half my normal portion size on a smaller plate to make a smaller ME!!!

Betsy is a Fat Hite (Scott)
So check out the following photographic proof of my Fat Hite status:

I can say this - I weigh under two bills. But not by a lot. I'll be the first of the Fat Hites to list here what I plan to do to change the Fat status (already did my best to change the Hite status, but it didn't really stick). I will be using a combo of working out and counting calories as my personal program. I don't know if you've heard this, but there's this revolutionary weight-loss plan where you burn more calories than you eat. Sounds a little crazy, but I'm willing to give it a try. I'll be tracking my progress on an Excel spreadsheet, because I am totally geeky like that. I'll keep you posted.

Karl is a Fat Hite
Well, I weigh like five hundred pounds and all but my mouse muscles have atrophied. The mouse muscles receive daily calisthenics at work, where my eyes are over-worked as well (you'll notice that in the photo below, also my quadruple chin). I'm a big fat dude. I plan to chronicle my desperate coming-of-fat saga here at Hungry Hungry Hippos, the Fat Hite Blog. I may also post on my blog from time to time (The Distinguished Radical). Thinness, rippedness, and fitness, here I come.

Hungry Hungry Hippos
The color scheme was carefully selected for it's blackness and its lack of horozontal stripes. We're fat and we're Hites. We can't help the one, but we aim to improve the former. Come with us on a journey through time, space, and fat.
